Thank you to all of the parents and carers that joined us for our 'Great British Spring Clean' on Tuesday afternoon - we managed to find quite a lot of litter hidden around the playground and school field!

We have been thinking about 'Floating and Sinking' as part of our topic work on Water - we talked about what each work meant and then predicted which objects would sink and float before testing them.

We also discussed how boats stayed afloat and had a go at making our own boat shapes from Plasticine!

Whilst continuing with our work on Farmer Duck this week in English we have been working on how to make our sentences more exciting and using some different 'time words' to start our sentences, to help us think about the order of events.
We ordered the pictures and then wrote a sentence or two about each one, trying to use some of our new words, like first, next, after that and finally. Year 2 challenged themselves and used some even more exciting sentence starters, such as while, just as and when.

Home Learning
Due Thursday 22nd March

This week we have been using ‘time words’ in our English lessons to help us remember the order of things that happen and to make our sentences more exciting!
For your home learning I would like you to tell me about something you did this weekend using some of the time words we have been learning.

Good (Year 1) -      First… Next… Then… After that…  Lastly…

Better (Year 2) -     When…    After that… / After a while…  Just as…   While…     Finally…

Don’t forget, your sentences should also have capital letters and full stops.
