This week we have been thinking about poems and rhymes - this week was World Nursery Rhyme week and so we have been learning lots of these and thinking about the rhyming words in each. We acted out these rhymes in groups too.
We also created some very funny rhymes by changing the words of 'Humpty Dumpty'!

Humpty Dumpty sat in a tree,
Humpty Dumpty fell in the sea!
All the King's horses and all the King's men,
Laughed at him and said 'Do it again!'

In Maths we have been focusing on measuring in cm using a ruler and have measured lots of things around our school!

On Thursday we did some problem solving - we had to build a new wall for Humpty Dumpty to sit on comfortably, that was also as tall as possible!
Some great thinking by everyone - we even had chairs added to the tops of some walls!

We were then challenged to test our walls with Humpty Dumpty sitting on top....!

Home Learning:

Due Thursday 17th November

Home Learning this week is to measure items around your house with a ruler (use your own or the paper one stuck in your book). Don't forget the 'cm' after the number!

Why not challenge yourself and see if you can ESTIMATE (make a 'clever' guess) how long each item is before measuring?

Spellings are in the blue books as usual.
