Welcome back!
We have been thinking about autumn this week in Class 2. We talked a lot about the different ways we celebrate in autumn - from Harvest, to Halloween and then Bonfire Night and the story of Guy Fawkes.
On Monday we made 'Invisibility Potion' for Morgana the good witch.
We had to carefully measure out each ingredient in the right order...
Then said the magic word and watched as the mixture bubbled away!
Great measuring skills everyone!
We have been thinking a lot about using ADJECTIVES (describing words) in our writing this week. We have started writing some autumn poetry using the signs of autumn we found for our home learning last week. I was so impressed with the ideas everyone came up with and we had as many as 7 adjectives in one sentence about a leaf in Year 2! WOW!
Ellie Sparkes was in the Golden Book this week for putting in 100% in every lesson and always being willing to share her ideas with others. Well done Ellie!
Home Learning
Due Thursday 10th NOVEMBER
Your home learning this week is to write some describing words (Y1) or sentences (Yr2) using adjectives about fireworks.
As we talked about in school this week, remember to use your SENSES to
help you think of ‘WOW’ words…
What can you see?
What can you hear?
What can you smell?
What can you touch (careful!)?
What can you taste (what kinds of things might you eat on Bonfire Night?)?

If you are not able to go out to see some fireworks or having some at
home, you could ask an adult to help you find a video on the internet to help
you, or ask Mrs Flynn or Mrs Curtis to help you find one on Monday or Tuesday
lunchtime.
