Welcome back!
I hope you all had a restful half term - we have a busy term ahead and have made a great start this week!

We have been working on different spellings of the /or/ sound this week, learning lots of new spelling patterns. Here are some super sentences using one way of writing this sound.....

Before we started our new book in English we listened to the description below and drew the image that came into our heads - there were some great pictures!

We have only read part of the story so far but have met the main character - Egg Box Dragon - and had a go at predicting and writing the end of the story today! Some of the ideas are absolutely fantastic!

On Tuesday we learned about John McAdam who improved the building of roads using new materials and processes called 'macadamisation' - we went out to have a look at the surfaces of the roads and paths and talked about how smoother roads are much nicer to drive on!

Everyone looked amazing on our 'Funky Hair Day' today - thank you all for taking part and raising some money for the school!

We made the most of the nice weather today by going for a walk around the village to find some signs of spring - we found some lovely snowdrops and some daffodils that are almost flowering too, whilst enjoying the sunshine (and puddles!)

In science this week we talked about recycling - what it is and how we do it at home and at school.
We sorted lots of 'rubbish' into different bins and found we could recycle a lot more than just paper and cardboard!

Happy half term everyone - don't forget term starts again on

We have been working hard on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s this week - here we are making a numberline counting in 5s.

Well done to the whole class who showed the rest of the school how confident they are counting in 2s, 5s and 10s in Golden Book assembly this week - amazing!

After learning about knights and armour in our topic lesson, some of us decided to make our own from K'Nex!

In Science this week we tested some different materials to see if we could change the shape of them by squashing, bending, twisting or stretching them....

Draedyn was in the Golden Book this week for working hard on remembering the spelling patterns we have been learning for the last 2 weeks - well done!
