We have been learning all about 3D shapes this week in Class 2 - we have learned the names of lots of these 'fat' shapes and stated to think carefully about their properties, such as how many edges or faces each one has, and what shape these are.

We went on a 'shape hunt' around the school - look at all the 3D shapes we found! Can you name them?

We have continued with our Alice in Wonderland story and have been working really hard on comprehension this week - not only READING part of the story and identifying adjectives and different types of punctuation that we know, but also UNDERSTANDING and EXPLAINING what we have read.
Lots more practice on this next week!

In science we have been looking at different types of materials and sorting objects based on what they are made out of or their properties, using words like rough/smooth, hard (rigid)/soft (flexible) etc

Iris was in the Golden Book this week for an absolutely fantastic piece of home learning about her trip to Italy over Easter - you had clearly worked hard on this, well done!

We also had some exciting STAR awards this week - 5 children were awarded their 'pen licence'! Normally these are only awarded in Yr3 or 4 however these children have shown that they can consistently write in neat, joined letters that are correctly formed, so a HUGE well done to
FRANCESCA, WHITNEY, SASKIA, SOPHIA and ALFIE G  ☺

Home Learning
Due Thursday 4th May.

Home Learning this week is a 3D shape task.

Year 1 - I would like you to go on a 3D shape hunt at home and write down what you can see that is the same shape as the ones we have learned this week. How many can you find?

Year 2 - You have some shape riddles to solve! Read the clues and match them to the 3D shapes we have learned about this week.

Don't forget, Monday is a Bank Holiday so see you all on Tuesday!
